I am sure many readers will already be aware that the new editor, Keith Wood, sadly passed away in February. Following discussion at the latest meeting of the Parochial Church Council (PCC) it was resolved that production of The Lantern will cease such that there will be no more editions published in 2019.

The PCC wishes to thank all readers for their support over very many years. As collection of delivery subscriptions 2019 are already in process we would please ask that subscribers who wish a refund of whole or part of their 2019 subscription contact their distributor to arrange payment, although all subscriptions not refunded will be put to good use as we move forward.

Whilst discontinuing publication of The Lantern on a quarterly basis the PCC remains committed to providing useful communications across the community through our Weekly Notices sheet, available on our website at www.KSBB.org.uk. In addition to this it is our intention to periodically publish a newsletter focused upon specific festivals or events through the church year. This will be distributed free of charge through our churches and at other points around the community, such as the Library, Health Centre & Post Office.

The first edition is likely to be in August/September focused upon the OneLIFE mission 2019 to our diocese which is being led by Archbishop of York John Sentamu. Our churches are taking part in the mission, which will be a catalyst for a whole range of activities and events designed to share the Good News of Jesus with communities across the diocese.
