History of St Mary Magdalene bells

There are six bells that have a ground floor ring, with a 60ft (18.3m) draft. The bells are housed in the coffee pot tower above the mechanical hand wound clock and re-hung in a cast iron frame installed for 6 bells in 1933 by the John Taylor, Loughbrough Bell Foundry.
There are three original bells (the 4,5 and tenor) that are fitted with hastings stays, while 3 more were added in 1992, the treble 2 and 3rd).
The Oldest bell is the 5th cast by R Quernbie, Nottingham, in 1628 which weighs 5cw 2 stone and 24lbs. This bell is oddstruck.
The 4th is dated 1652 and is 4cws 2 stone and 1lbs cast by George Oldfield, Nottingham and the date tenor, which is 6cws 2 stone and 23 lbs, is not known but 17th centurary cast by R Quernbie, Nottingham.
The three new bells were cast by John Taylor, Loughborough, and hung in 1992. The treble is 3cws 1 stone and 26 lbs, the 2nd is 4 cwt and 2 lbs and the 3rd 4cwt 1 stone and 8lbs.
The treble is dedicated to Alex, and Peggy Lund and Jenny and John Davie. The 2nd and 3rd in memory of Mrs Pattinson.
